Here's my make up routine:
Base:
Get a foundation the matches your skin-tone, I use Clinique super-fit makeup in 'Shell.' Find a complimentary blush, I have a rose color, and blend that on your cheeks.
Eyes:
I have this great eyeshadow duo that's just a tad lighter than my skin, and and just a tad darker. If you find one similar to that, I recommend it.
Application: Brush the lighter color from your eyelashes to your eyebrow bone. Take the darker tone and put it just on you eyelid.
If you're going for a really natural look, put just a touch of eyeliner on, I like liquid because it doesn't smear. (I've had the hardest time finding on that doesn't leave me looking tired after an hour. Pencil always smudges under my eye within an hour.) I'd use black or clear mascara on your lashes, curling them makes you look much more awake. If you don't have a curler (you can find them for under five dollars at any supermarket/drug store) you can use a spoon. Put it right at the base of your lashes and then with your fingers, apply pressure and lift up. Not quite as effective, but many make-up stylists recommend it.
Lips:
A nice clear lip gloss will look very sophisticated and young.
Something a little different:
If you want to jazz up your makeup routine, I suggest a dark purple, plum, or mauve eyeshadow. You can get it wet and apply it heavier and right at the base of your lashes for a pop of color. It also sets your eyeliner.What makeup colours (eyeshadow, lipstick etc.) best suit dark hair?
Your coloring sounds very similar to mine. There are usually 2 looks I use. Either dramatic eyes or dramatic lips.
For dramatic eyes: I would start with MAC's Vanilla pigment over the lids. Then blend a dark color into the crease. I love using MAC's Knight Divine (dark gray), Plum Dressing (dark plum), or Woodwinked (warm brown). Apply black or dark gray eyeliner and mascara (I like Almay's eyeliner and Maybelline's Great Lash mascara). Finish with a light shimmery lipglass. I prefer MAC's Lipglass in Nymphette.
For dramatic lips: For eyes I use just the Vanilla over the entire lid, eyeliner and mascara. I make sure my skin is flawless (I use Bare Escentuals mineral powder products) and a light sweep of blush (mine is Bare Escentuals All-Over-Color in Soft Focus). Then I apply a matte red lipstick with blue undertones, I LOVE Clinique's Red Hot. (the blue undertones go well with our skin color and even makes your teeth look whiter...love it!.

corals came in, I tried t hose. So now I wear mauve or a deep
smokey rose shade. I would wear peachy tones, but I am too
old for those now. So for you, I'd suggest the peach. Which
gives you a little more color and it isn't harsh or make you have the look of old lips. I hate to see a lipstick that 'bleeds'
on someones' lips. It gets into cracks above the lip line and
just looks plain ugly. You want color, but not flaming color nor
the deep colors out now. For winter, colors tend to go dark,
but if they look horrible on, you can't follow the trends as much. Check the color charts and look for something midway
that you can use. Check the color against your wrist to
see if it goes well. That's the one you'll want.

it is very important that you hydrate your lips and wear a sunscreen on them. Try to find a lip-stain/chap-stick with SPF in it. I love Vincent Longo's Lipstain Lipstick SPF 15 in ';Foolish Virgin.'; Another great product is Fresh's Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15, it doesn't have any color to it but it makes your lips soft, satiny and a little shiny. If you want a gloss, try The Balm's BalmShelter SPF 17 Tinted Gloss in ';Girl Next Door.'; I also love Benefit's Silky-Finish Lipstick in ';Skinny Dip,'; it is like a lipstick and lip-gloss in one. i have skin and hair almost like yours and you're right, red is way too extreme. I say use neutral colors on a daily basis and only use pink and shimmer only if your outfit is particularly bright or colorful. and if neutrals are too boring for you, get a gloss that has a slightly gold tint. i got this really great one from MAC that has a gold tint to it and it looks really nice with the warm tones of my skin and hair. It will make your face look summery and divine(that sounds corny but its true)
I think the colors you're using right now are great. You don't want to use colors that are too obvious because they kind of have a more formal look to them.
Clear lip gloss with sparkles, light pinks, and you could try that metallic looking lip gloss for more shine
At your age, you should stick with a gloss. Matte lipsticks will just age you. You should stick with ultra slick %26amp; shiny pale pinks for daytime. If you're going out at night, maybe punch it up with a deeper, shiny berry color (doesn't have to be red!!!)

it is very important that you hydrate your lips and wear a sunscreen on them. Try to find a lip-stain/chap-stick with SPF in it. I love Vincent Longo's Lipstain Lipstick SPF 15 in ';Foolish Virgin.'; Another great product is Fresh's Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15, it doesn't have any color to it but it makes your lips soft, satiny and a little shiny. If you want a gloss, try The Balm's BalmShelter SPF 17 Tinted Gloss in ';Girl Next Door.'; I also love Benefit's Silky-Finish Lipstick in ';Skinny Dip,'; it is like a lipstick and lip-gloss in one. It is neutral and makes your lips really nice and silky but the only problem is that it doesn't have an SPF in it. But it is still great. Also try it in ';Nice Knickers'; if the ';Skinny Dip'; is a little too light for your skin tone.

i would try going to dillards and macys and have the ladies at the makeup counters give you their opinions since they are trained about that kind of thing. so once you have a few opinions either go with the one they seemed to like the most or one you like the most. As for lipstick - dark is not good. You would want a natural/pinky/nude gloss. I would recommend (and what i usually end up doing) is filling in the person's lip with a colorstay lip liner, then put the gloss over... That way when your walking around, or have a drink you still have some color on.

Combination skin with cream blush, also best lipstick brand NARS?
I have combination skin and although powder blush is suppose to be the best for my skin, I find that cream blush looks better. It makes my skin look more natural and smooth, while powder highlights all the flaws. What are your opinion with powder and cream blush. Mac offers lip primer, but I'd rather just reapply anyway... chapstick/lipbalm before applying anything.. I'm using Loreal's Color Riche right now in Tawny (845), really nice and subtle looking if your eye makeup is more out there.. it just evens out the lips and creates dimension before you apply on the gloss.. for gloss I use Mac's Tinted Lip Glass because it's more subtle over lipstick, but any gloss can be subtle if you just put less of it. I just like the look of nice plump lips with even tone (personally, my lips are dry and often chapped), not necessarily sticky glossy shiny lips that's half pouring into your mouth you know haha and your hair sticking all over it haha...What is the best lipgloss/lipstick you'd recommend?
To keep your lipstick last longer thorugh out the day you should try a lip liner becuase it is supposed to keep your lipstick on all day and keep it from bleeding. You could also try a lipstick that is long wearing so you wouldn't have to use a lip liner. I suggest you try Maybelline's Superstay Lipcolour, but remember to apply the colour first and wait 2 mins. before you apply the balm. Covergirl also sells one too but I think Maybelline's lasts longer (maybelline's lasts for 16 hours).
If you are looking for a good brand of lipgloss and lipstick you should check out Mac lipgloss and lipsticks becuase they come in a wide range of colours and finishes and overall their products are fantasic!
I wore L'Oreal's new 6 hour Infallible lipgloss to my prom and I loved it! Although I had to reapply after dinner (but it might have just been that I really like lipgloss), it stayed on for the whole night. It doesn't get sticky and there's even a mirror on the lid (I thought that was pretty cool). For $8, you can't beat it!

Mac offers lip primer, but I'd rather just reapply anyway... chapstick/lipbalm before applying anything.. I'm using Loreal's Color Riche right now in Tawny (845), really nice and subtle looking if your eye makeup is more out there.. it just evens out the lips and creates dimension before you apply on the gloss.. for gloss I use Mac's Tinted Lip Glass because it's more subtle over lipstick, but any gloss can be subtle if you just put less of it. I just like the look of nice plump lips with even tone (personally, my lips are dry and often chapped), not necessarily sticky glossy shiny lips that's half pouring into your mouth you know haha and your hair sticking all over it haha...What is the best lipgloss/lipstick you'd recommend?
To keep your lipstick last longer thorugh out the day you should try a lip liner becuase it is supposed to keep your lipstick on all day and keep it from bleeding. You could also try a lipstick that is long wearing so you wouldn't have to use a lip liner. I suggest you try Maybelline's Superstay Lipcolour, but remember to apply the colour first and wait 2 mins. before you apply the balm. Covergirl also sells one too but I think Maybelline's lasts longer (maybelline's lasts for 16 hours).
If you are looking for a good brand of lipgloss and lipstick you should check out Mac lipgloss and lipsticks becuase they come in a wide range of colours and finishes and overall their products are fantasic!
I wore L'Oreal's new 6 hour Infallible lipgloss to my prom and I loved it! Although I had to reapply after dinner (but it might have just been that I really like lipgloss), it stayed on for the whole night. It doesn't get sticky and there's even a mirror on the lid (I thought that was pretty cool). For $8, you can't beat it!

I am going to stand up in a friend's wedding and am looking for a lipstick that will stay on for a reasonable amount of time without smudging or rubbing off. Being a starving student, I am willing to spend $15 tops and hopefully less! i like covergirl's outlast (same as max factor infinity---just that the max factor is usually about a $1-2 more)....it is a stain so it stays on for around 12 hrs before it starts to rub off....the only trick is that it comes off with oil (so you can use eye makeup remover to get it off---but that also means if you eat something like an oily salad dressing you have to be careful). also if you want to try it, i would suggest that you start wearing it at least 2 weeks before the wedding (some people find that it dries your lips out and they can be a bit chapped until you get used to it)....it comes with a shiny gloss to wear over the top and help with the drying.

For dark skin I wouldn't suggest red but perhaps a light pink as this would compliment your skin tone :)

For dark skin I wouldn't suggest red but perhaps a light pink as this would compliment your skin tone :)

I like lancome lip dimensions. It stays on all day and you can't even feel it. I hate the drugstore crap that feels like paint on your lips. Just go to the counter and see if you like it. Good luck

It comes in tubes, jars %26amp; small chapstick containers. It's great.
If you choose to do your make-up different than what you would wear on an ordinary evening out, I suggest that you not go too dark/bright. You don't want to look back at your pictures and feel like you looked like a clown. I have a friend who had her make-up professionally done and they caked it on... she hates her pictures now because she says it doesn't even look like her.
Whatever doesn't rub off on the 1,000 people you will kiss that day, not to mention your new husband!

I wore it to my wedding and my lips look as great when we're leaving the reception as they did when I was leaving the makeup artist. Cost me around $20 for the tube. Stay in the warm or neutral colors try to look natural as possible and arch your eyebrows and make sure its not real thin.

MAC always has pretty lipsticks. Go to any makeup counter in a department store (a younger, more fresh makeup line like MAC, Chanel, Dior, Lancome, Benefit) and ask them to test out lipstick on you. Make sure they put a primer/base, lip liner, lipstick, and finish it off with gloss. It sounds over the top but it makes it look very complete and gives the full effect. If its a darker color, have them put the highlight around your lips to make the color ';pop'; and a powder to keep it from ';bleeding'; into any fine lines around your mouth. Take some eye shadow that is in just the PERFECT color, and then mix it with some clear gloss, or the natural oils of your lips, or go over any other lip color with it, that you have and blend it in a bit by rubbing your lips together and WOW just WOW, I know it sounds crazy but give it a go some time %26lt;3
Another trick is to take a strawberry or a raspberry, i.e., some kind of fruit that will leave a stain and see what kind of natural color you get on your lips, it will last longer if you go over that with a gloss

MAC always has pretty lipsticks. Go to any makeup counter in a department store (a younger, more fresh makeup line like MAC, Chanel, Dior, Lancome, Benefit) and ask them to test out lipstick on you. Make sure they put a primer/base, lip liner, lipstick, and finish it off with gloss. It sounds over the top but it makes it look very complete and gives the full effect. If its a darker color, have them put the highlight around your lips to make the color ';pop'; and a powder to keep it from ';bleeding'; into any fine lines around your mouth. Clinique is my fav... Chanel... Mary Kay is my second fav... but if you are looking for inexpensive yet rich and feel good lip-stick... Avon and Rimmel have my vote!!!
i love merle norman lip pencil plus-they are aliner on one end and color on the other and i love Dior Lip maximizer...doesn't really plump up lips but is not gooey and is a nice neutral
go to sephora and get yourself a few lipsticks..today i went in and got a lipstick for 5 dollars..sephora brand is cheaper than any other brand and its as good..go to youtube and search smashbox tutorial or makeup tutorials..**** luck and dont be scared to try new things..dont listen to other people who tell that your lipstick is to bright they just dont know fashion..google makeup pictures and look at all the diffrent types of makeup you can do..makeup has come a long way.

it lasts for hours, doesnt make you look like you have spit around your lips and you can adjust the shade by smudging it!
